Let’s say you don’t want to afford professional video at this time and your inner Steven Spielberg is waiting to shine through. We’re cool with that and we want to help you make better video that delivers better content for your audience. So the very foundation to video is the equipment and we have that “must have” list for you.
1. iPhone or an iPad
You need a camera. Good chance you already own an iPhone and if you do not, get yourself an iPad. We like the website macofalltrades.com, which is a site you can buy refurbished mac products that work like new AND you save money.

2. iOgrapher Rig (case)
You need something to hold your iPhone or your iPad and we recommend using an iOgrapher rig. We've used other holders and this one offers the most expansiveness for your do it yourself projects. The rig attaches to a tripod and has "hot shoe" mounts on the top of the case which you can attach lights and/or microphones to, which is a HUGE help.

You need something to hold your brand new iOgrpaher case. That something is a tripod. You can start out with a cheap one just to get by. Trust me it is going to make a difference in your production.

A great way to light yourself is not with your office desk lamp. Instead invest in a set of umbrella lights. No matter what your skin tone is, these lights will give you a nice even and soft light on you and/or your talent.

You need to be heard! We like to start you out with a rode shotgun mic. These mics pick up whatever is in front of them. They work very easily with iPhones and iPads, which is the reason we recommend them. We also like these mics because they allow you to use them for various types of do it yourself productions.
